Our reminiscence therapy sessions focus on the ‘Remembering yesterday, caring today’ approach, helping clients retrace their life stories. This structured 12-week programme encourages participation in group sessions that explore key life milestones, from childhood to significant events. Thematic days foster engagement and often trigger long-forgotten memories, allowing clients to share stories and form new friendships. “Writing on behalf of my lovely mum. My mum attended Millfields Day Services with moderate Alzheimer’s and had a wide range of different needs. Millfields Day Services has a person-centred and individual approach to every service user – they took the time to get to know mum. She was often coming home with slices of cake she’d baked and different arts and crafts projects and clearly enjoyed her time in a safe and secure environment. The layout of the centre itself is lovely – it feels like a friendly community as soon as you go in the front door. I could not recommend Millfields Day Services enough or speak higher of all the staff members that work there. Unfortunately, mum’s Alzheimer’s progressed, and we had to move mum into full-time care, but we were not alone. Millfields were with us every step of the way, sharing their expertise and making sure mum got a care package that was suitable for her. They took us as mum’s family under their wing and into their community, too, and we are so thankful xxx.”
